The VidantaWorld Mexico Open is at Vidanta Vallarta this week. We have captured every shot from 2024 and 2025 there, 56,519 in all, and the sections below use them to show how each hole has played and where the strokes are won and lost. The hole-by-hole scoring goes back further, to 2022: four editions and 1,677 player-rounds.

Against the rest of the tour
Each par plays within a few hundredths of a stroke of the tour average here (every hole of the same par from 2022 on). How much of a hole's scoring comes from its length alone is in PGA Tour scoring average by hole length.
What the wind does here
The wind has hardly changed from round to round here: all eight rounds averaged 6 to 8 mph. The field's scoring still moved, from -0.46 in round 1 of 2024 to -1.97 in round 3 of 2024, so the wind was not what moved it. A windy week here would be new. Rounds 3 and 4 are played by the players who made the cut.
The hole the wind moves most
Hole 14, par 5, swings more with the wind than any other here: the simulation has it at -0.52 to par in calm air and -0.18 at 20 mph. Drag the wind to replay it.

The fairway pays at the green
On the par-4 2nd, 62% of approaches from the fairway find the green. From the rough, 21%. That 41-point gap is the largest on the course.
The wrong side
On the par-5 6th, an approach that misses right ends in bogey or worse 51% of the time (69 misses). Missing left costs 40% (55 misses). Yet 56% of missed greens go right, and the pattern held in both years.
The green that decides the round
The par-4 10th is held just 37% of the time. Hit it and bogey or worse is 10%; miss it and it is 62%.
What a tucked pin costs here
Players still find the green when the pin is tucked. What they lose is the birdie: on greens hit to a tucked pin the average first putt is 26 ft and 23% become birdies (727 greens), against 20 ft and 35% to an open pin (5,911). More on this in what a tucked pin costs.
